Root Canal Treatment Extending The Life Of Your Tooth ?

• Why does my tooth hurt?

When you have a trauma to your tooth or an infection, it can damage the root canal causing swelling and pain.

• What is a root canal?  

This is the soft middle part of your tooth where the nerves and blood vessels are.

• What are the treatment options?  

The only cure is to clean the root canal in your offending tooth. If the problem was caused by an infection you will probably need antibiotics first. Once your tooth is numbed, the root canal is removed and then replaced with a sealant to prevent further infection and pain occurring. It's quite a fiddly intricate procedure, on more complex teeth, Dr Neha & Dr Neale will sometimes use the microscope for a better view.

The Wand is used to ensure your tooth is fully numb before the start of treatment, so you should feel no pain, perhaps just a little discomfort. UK Whitening Regulations To Protect YOU !

You may have seen in the news recently that the laws governing the use of tooth whitening products has changed.  

It is now illegal for anyone other than a dentist to prescribe tooth whitening treatment, dental therapists and other clinicians can only provide this treatment under supervision of a dentist and after adequate training.  

This new law came in to stop unqualified people offering tooth whitening treatment in the UK - since they did not have the required training in this treatment they did not have the full understanding of issues that arise as tooth whitening treatment is not suitable for everyone.
