Dental Practice recognised yet again by the British Dental Association

The Appledore Dental Clinic in Binfield, Bracknell has recently been recognised again by the British

Dental Association (BDA) as committed to good practice and has retained its Good Practice Scheme Status. This means that the clinic meets nationally recognised standards in order to provide the best possible care for its patients.

As a member of the BDA Good Practice Scheme, each member of the dental team has signed up to the following commitment:

1.      We involve our patients in all aspects of their care and ensure that their needs and preferences are considered and that they can take informed decisions

2.      We ensure a safe environment by undertaking risk assessments and managing potential hazards within the practice. We follow current guidelines for preventing cross-infection

3.      We recruit team members that are competent to undertake the duties associated with their role and provide training where required. We encourage on-going professional development for all members of our team

4.      We monitor the quality of the service we provide and seek the views of our patients to identify opportunities for improvement

The team at Appledore always work hard to comply with the 120+ requirements of the Scheme. “It is quite a lot of hard work”, said Dr Teresa Day the Clinical Director and Founder, “but everyone finds it worthwhile and we really feel that our service to patients is 2nd to none”.

Dr Teresa added, “We involve all our patients in their treatment right from the start. We discuss the options available and give them all the information they need to decide which is best for them. Patient waiting times are kept to a minimum and every effort is made to make appointments that are convenient to the patient.
