Bracknell Dentist Goes Punk For Children In Need

The entire team went punk for the whole day, goodness only knows what the patients thought :) hopefully they enjoyed the madness, entered the competition to win an Oral B Electric Toothbrush worth £159.99 and bought homemade cakes which all helped us raise £172.22 for children in need.
  • The winner of the Oral B Toothbrush Safety Pin competion was Darren Hammond who guessed 211 safety pins were worn in total by the Appledore team.

Oral Sex Might Give You Mouth Cancer?

The four main risk factors for mouth cancer are:

  • Drinking alcohol to excess
  • Poor diet 
  • HPV

Tobacco is still the main cause for mouth cancer, however experts now suggest that the human papillomavirus (HPV), transmitted through oral sex, could overtake tobacco and alcohol as the main risk factor in the next decade. 

An estimated 60,000 people in the UK will be diagnosed with mouth cancer in the next decade.

Risks to look out for include mouth ulcers that do not heal within three weeks, red and white patches and lumps or swellings in the mouth.

  • As well as checking your teeth for signs of tooth decay, our clinicians also look at the health of your gums and check your jaw joints.
