You may have seen in the news recently
that the laws governing the use of tooth whitening products has
changed.
It is now illegal for anyone other than
a dentist to prescribe tooth whitening treatment, dental therapists and other
clinicians can only provide this treatment under supervision of a dentist and
after adequate training.
This new law came in to
stop unqualified people offering tooth whitening treatment in the UK -
since they did not have the required training in this treatment they did not
have the full understanding of issues that arise as tooth whitening treatment is not
suitable for everyone.
